About Me
Danielle Thornes, LMSW
I’m Danielle. I offer a space where you can slow down, tune in and discover what’s ready to unfold.
I became passionate about mind-body techniques and somatic therapy through my life-long fascination with psychology. I am a highly-sensitive person and have felt things deeply throughout my life. After discovering a multitude of ways to connect with myself effectively, I became inspired to help others.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with 500 hours of training and an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist. I am currently a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training through Somatic Experiencing International.

My values
01
Intersectionality
I acknowledge gender identity, race, physical ability, class, sexual orientation and how these things intersect in a person’s unique experience.
02
Connection
In order to learn, you have to feel safe first. My approach to therapy goes beyond tools and directly opposes a “fixing” mentality. I believe change and growth begin with connection and acceptance.
03
Health and Wellness
I value focusing on the whole person when addressing any concern, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
